J.B. Standridge

COMMERCE – J.B. Standridge Jr., 74, died Monday, February 7, 2011 at his residence.

Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late J.B Standridge Sr. and Agnus Blalock Standridge. He was retired from Johnson and Johnson and later worked at East Jackson Middle School. Mr. Standridge was preceded in death by his son, Dean Standridge.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Tolbert Standridge, Commerce; sons, Rickey Standridge, Commerce, Mickey Standridge, Pendergrass and Sherman Standridge, Hemingway, S.C.; daughter, Jackie Allen, Commerce; brother, Jimmy Standridge, Gainesville; sister, Marie Dover, Gainesville; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 9, from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Revs. Douglas Lee, Tim Garrett and Sherman Standridge officiating. Burial will be in the Freedom Church of God cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 8, at the funeral home.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
