COMMERCE – Julia Delores Slater, 70, died Tuesday, February 1, 2011, following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Willie T. and Lucille Crane McCoy. Mrs. Slater was preceded in death by a son, Randy Slater; and a daughter, Tammy Slater.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Clifford Slater; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Kim Slater; sisters, Gloria Hart, Commerce, and Margaret McDuffie, Homer; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 3, at 3 p.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Revs. Douglas Duncan, John Webber, Paul Vickery and Henry Webb officiating. Burial will be in the Cabin Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, February 2, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
