JEFFERSON – Linda M. Howington Looney “Poochie,” 68, died Sunday, January 30, 2011.
Born on April 6, 1942, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Sarah Anderson Howington of Jefferson and the late Roy Hoodie Howington. She was a retired from the U.S. Post Office, where she was a letter carrier. She was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Roy Looney; daughters, Angela Marie Burgess, Dora Tina Jarrard, Mykayla Marie Looney, all of Jefferson; son, Jeffery Roy Looney, Jefferson; sister, Betty Joe Standridge, Jefferson; brothers, Leroy Howington, Savannah, and Steve Howington, Jefferson; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 1, at 1 p.m., from the Bethany United Methodist hurch with the Revs. Charles Reece and Johnny Ray officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Jonathan Gary, Jeff Brown, Greg Howington, Drew Looney, Zach Oxner and Benji Oxner honored as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Monday, January 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
