TALMO – Judy Arlene Shaw Pethel, 63, died Friday, January 21, 2011.
Born on July 26, 1947, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy and Lounette Hayes Shaw. She was retired from the Jackson County School System as a Para pro and was a member of Talmo Baptist Church. Mrs. Pethel was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Shaw.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Jim Pethel; daughters, Anita (Chris) McGee, Blairsville, Christie (Chad) Robbins, St. Simons; sister, Shirley Greeson, Alto; grandchild, Tanner McGee; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 24, at 2 p.m., from Talmo Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Spence and Charles Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Talmo Baptist Church Bilding Fund.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
