Helen Bond

ELBERTON – Helen Smith Bond, 99, died Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Abundant Living in Comer.

Born in Elbert County on September 3, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Charles Spurgeon and Lessie Seymour Smith. She was a retired Dental Assistant and a member of the Dewy Rose Baptist Church. Mrs. Bond was preceded in death by her husband, James Hugh Bond; brothers, Charles H. Smith and John A. Smith; and a nephew, John A. Smith.
Survivors include nieces, Neeva Rivera, Mary Russell, Wanda Smith and Virginia Bramblett; and a nephew, Dr. Charles M. Smith.

Graveside services were held Sunday, January 23, at the Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Wester officiating.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
