LAVONIA – Pauline “Polly” Robinson Buffington, 70, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospice House.
Born on May 21, 1940, in DeKalb County, she was the daughter of the late James Robinson Sr. and Frances (Drummond) Robinson. Prior to retirement, she was a teacher at Clarkston High School, the Kindergarten Director for Clarkston Baptist Church, and a paraprofessional at Lavonia Elementary School. She was a member of the Providence United Methodist Church and the Golden Heirs Senior Group. Mrs. Buffington was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Luke Helton.
Survivors include her husband, Hugh David Buffington, Lavonia; daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and Ray Casaday, Braselton, and Kimberly and John Leffert, Watkinsville; brother and sister-in-law, James Robinson Jr. and Marsha Robinson; and grandchildren, Cody and Sara Helton, Jessica Casaday and Benjamin and Brooke Leffert.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, at 11 a.m., at Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, January 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service hour. At other hours the family will be at home.
