JEFFERSON – Curtis Odell Beck, 82, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011.
Born on March 12, 1928, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Flanigan Beck. He was retired from the Jefferson City School system, where he worked in maintenance for 53 years. He was a member of Living Word Worship Center in Jefferson.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Wehunt Beck, Jefferson; sons, James Vic Beck and Larry Beck, both of Jefferson; daughters, Joann Roberts, Gainesville, and Patricia Tate, Jefferson; brother, Rufus Beck, Commerce; sisters, Vernelle Evans, Commerce, Sara Covington and Eddie Pearl Wylie, both of Homer; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 21, at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Law officiating. Burial will be in the Jackson Memorial Park with Dusty Beck, Christopher Ward, Jason Ward, Kerry Parr, Steven Stancil and Greg Mize honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held Thursday, January 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
