HULL – Willie Mae Gillen, 88, died Saturday, January 15, 2011.
A lifelong resident of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Savannah Phelps Watson. She retired as a seamstress with Thomas Textile in the Whitehall Community, after many years in the textile industry. She was a member of Chattooga Ave. Holiness Church. Mrs. Gillen was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, William Boyd Gillen.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 18, at 11 a.m., from Lord & Stephens East Chapel with the Rev. Dayton Logan officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, January 17, from 6 to 8 p.m.
