WINDER - Charles Haase Arnold, Sr., 90, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2011.
A retired pharmacist and owner of Arnold's City Pharmacy in Winder from 1945 - 1989, Mr. Arnold had lived in Winder since the age of two when his family moved from Statham. Mr. Arnold was predeceased by his parents Kemp Chambers Arnold and Leila Henry Arnold, and eldest son Charles Haase Arnold, Jr.
Mr. Arnold is survived by his wife of 68 years, Evelyn Fuller Arnold; sons, Robert Edward Arnold, Sr. (Janet), Anderson, S.C. and Stephen Kemp Arnold (Susan), Huntsville, Ala.; daughter, Helen Arnold Person (Darrell), Winder; nine grandchildren, two grandchildren by marriage; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, in the sanctuary of the Winder First United Methodist Church, 280 N. Broad Street, Winder, with Pastor Terry Tippens officiating. Visitation and reception to follow in the church Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Charles Haase Arnold, Sr. Memorial Fund, c/o Winder First United Methodist Church, 280 N. Broad St., Winder, GA 30680.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
