COMER – Mary Burton Langford Patton, 73, died Monday, January 10, 2011, at her residence.
Born in Madison County on September 20, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Howard and Oneita Burton Langford. She was a retired registrar having worked with the Madison County Government and was a member of the Comer United Methodist Church. Mrs. Patton was preceded in death by her husband, James Samuel Patton.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Scott Carey, Comer; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Melanie Patton, Comer, and Doug and Ann Patton, Ila; grandchildren, Jamie Patton, Shelly Patton, Morgan Carey, Sam Carey, Savannah Patton, Duncan Patton and Jake Carey; and caregivers, Donna Barrett, Jennifer Pittman and Wanda Jackson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, at 2 p.m., from the Comer United Methodist Church with the Revs. Hugh Hendrickson and Tim Peek officiating. Burial will be in the Comer City Cemetery.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The family is at their respective homes.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, is in charge of arrangements.

I am sadden by the loss of another and so soon after her husband. The Pattons were mentors to myself and my wife and they will both will be greatly missed.
