WINDER – Steven Alan Baxley, 39, died Friday, January 7, 2011.
Born in Newnan, he was the son of Stanley Baxley of Vidalia and the late Linda Stephens Baxley. He was of the Baptist denomination and had a BS Degree in Criminal Justice. He was an insurance fraud investigator with Liberty National Insurance Company. He had worked in the past with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation as a special agent and field investigator for six years. He also served on the Altamahaw Drug Task Force. He was a passionate musician and an accomplished singer and song writer. He was a loving husband, brother, son and friend loved ones stated. Mr. Baxley was preceded in death by a sister, Lynn Baxley.
Survivors in addition to his father include his wife, Amanda Baxley, Winder; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Kenneth Lamb, Guyton; and nieces and nephews, Brian Lamb, Leslie Lamb, Meredith Lamb, Colby Taylor, Kenneth Nunn, Jayda Beth Taylor and Emily Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 13, at 11 a.m., from Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Doug Duke officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newman.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
