Kathleen Maret Jackson, 90, of Royston, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at the Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston.
She was born in Franklin County on October 25, 1917, the daughter of the late Karl Eugene and Sophia Randall Maret. She was an administrative assistant having worked with L.R. Tucker Company and was a member of the Royston Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Bible Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Woodmen of the World, the Royston-Franklin Springs Lions Club, and was a dedicated member of Ty Cobb Pink Ladies Auxiliary for over 50 years, and the UDC Lavonia Chapter. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Carmon B. Jackson; a sister, Annie Laura Akin; and brother, Karl D. Maret.
Survivors include brothers, Randall and Charles Maret, both of Dalton; sisters, Marguerite LeCroy, Henrietta Mabry and Sue Maret, all of Lavonia; Jo Nix, Hamilton; Elaine Gibbs, Royston; Bette Cowles, Marietta; and 22 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 27, at the Royston Baptist Church with the Revs. Richard Bielski, Mike Smith, and Mr. Vernon Boswell officiating. Burial was in the Franklin Memorial Gardens-North.
