JEFFERSON – Thomas Michael Van Deven, 61, formerly of Gastonia, N.C., died Friday, December 17, 2010.
Born on April 30, 1949, in Milwaukee, Wis., he was the son of the late Byron George and Florence Sophia Lehman Van Deven. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army in Vietnam and was an electrical engineer with Duke Energy.
Survivors include his wife, Fran Van Deven, Jefferson; a brother, Peter Van Deven, Apopka, Fla.; sisters, Sally Berry, Charleston, N.C. and Mary Wood Row, Centennial, Colo.; one sister-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 20, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Mobley officiating. Burial will be Friday, January 14, at 2 p.m., in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
