SAVANNAH – Mozelle Wilson Hill died Monday, January 3, 2011, eight hours short of her 96th birthday at Riverview Nursing Home under the care of Hospice of Savannah and attended by her daughter and grandson.
Born in Maysville, she was the daughter of the late Allen Daniel and Eunice Yarbrough Wilson. She was a member of Harmony Christian Church. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron W. Hill; stepmother, Oline Wilson; sisters, Mazie Hill and Clarabelle Mabry; twin sister, Ozelle Wilson; brothers, Grady Wilson, W.D. (Dub) Wilson and Sid Wilson; stepbrothers, Joe Prickett and Howard Prickett; and a granddaughter, Emily Amanda Coker.
She and her husband owned and operated Hill’s Grocery in Maysville. Shortly after his death and with the assistance and support of her son, Ralph, she operated her deceased father’s farm as a cattle ranch, raising beef cattle and, as a hobby, goats.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances Hill Williams (Robert), Savannah; son, Ralph Allen Hill, Maysville; grandchildren, Michael Edward Walton and Beth Cribbs Larson (Lance), all of Savannah, Susan Camille Spencer (Dean), Pensacola, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Maxwell Spencer, Jordan and Cassandra Cribbs and Luke Larson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 6, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home. Family visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
