SMYRNA – Carolyn Lord Ash, 86, died Saturday, January 1, 2011.
A long time resident of Smyrna, she was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. C.B. Lord of Jefferson. She had been a member of the Smyrna First Baptist Church for over 45 years and, as an accomplished piano player, played for the Senior Adult department. She was also a kindergarten teacher for over 30 years and was also employed by the Cobb County School District for 10 years.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Robert L. Ash Sr., Smyrna; a son, Robert L. (Lynn) Ash Jr., Acworth; daughter, Karen (Eddie) Ash Frost, Kennesaw; brother, Dr. C.B. Lord, Athens; grandchildren, Laurie (Brett) Beard, Julie (Wes) Wilkie, Andrew Ash, Emily (Scott) Bodden, Lindsey (Bradford) Mitchell, Hannah Frost; great-grandchildren, Bryson and Ashlyn Beard.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 4, in the Sanctuary of the Smyrna First Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Allen officiating. Burial was in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

Carmichael Funeral Home, Smyrna, was in charge of arrangements.
