HOSCHTON - Albert A. Carter, 88, died Monday, December 27, 2010.
The son of the late Pasco and Seanie Kilgore Carter, he was born in Jackson County and had lived most of his life in Barrow County. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Carter. Mr. Carter was a longtime member of Bethabra Baptist Church and was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre of operations. He was a retired cattle and poultry farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Bramlett Carter, Hoschton; son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Martha Carter, Hoschton; grandchildren, Dr. Emily and Jeremy Hutton, Jefferson, Amanda and Russ Johnston, Statham; great-granddaughter, Audrey Hutton, Jefferson; two brothers, Herman Carter, Hoschton and Douglas Carter, Winder.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 30, from the chapel of Carter Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Burgess officiating. Burial will be in the Bethabra Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
