PENDERGRASS – Joe William “Dub” Davis, 87, died Sunday, December 26, 2010.
Born on October 26, 1923, in Hall County, he was the son of the late Joe and Mattie Stover Davis. He was a retired meat processor, a member of the Talmo Baptist Church, was retired from the Army National Guard and loved gardening and fishing. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a son, Sammy Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Patton Davis, Pendergrass; daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Danny Glenn, Jefferson; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Kathy Davis, Gainesville; sisters, Faye and Grace; brother, Franks Davis, Talmo; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 29, at 2 p.m. from Talmo Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Spence officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the church. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
