Lona Bell Carter, 93, of Winder, died Friday, August 1, 2008.
Born in Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late Jabers Wayne and Elizabeth Whitehead Huff. She was a member of Emmanuel Worship Center and was a retired seamstress. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Carter; sons, Johnny and Quentin Carter; brothers, Dewey, Odennis, James and Odessa Huff; and sisters, Lizzy Mae and Arville Huff.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Joe Brown, Bethlehem; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 4, at 2 p.m., at Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Larry Pruett officiating. Burial will be in Carter Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 3, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
