NICHOLSON – Charles Martin, 59, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Hugh Bartow and Nellie Mae Turpin Martin. He was retired from Reliance.

Survivors include a son, William Martin, Nicholson; brothers, Boyd Martin, Redstone, and Hugh Martin, Jefferson; sisters, Ealviree Patterson, Homer, Isabelle Pressey, Maysville, and Alvire Fields, Jefferson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 24, at 1 p.m., from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Elrod officiating. Burial will be in Maxwell Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
