DAHLONEGA – Lucille Crowe Turk, 92, formerly of Chestnut Mountain, died Sunday, December 19, 2010, following a sudden illness.
She was the daughter of the late Rufus and Ida Sailers Crowe. She was of the Baptist denomination, was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and formerly a member of Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church where she served as the pianist and organist for years. She was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother, loved ones stated. Mrs. Turk was preceded in death by her husband, Hammond Turk; sisters, Beuna Hutchins, Stella Small, Nellie McDonald, Verna Tanner and Alene Jackson; and brothers, Hoyt Crowe and Hubert Crowe.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Lisa Turk, Dahlonega; daughter and son-in-law, Florence and Rickey Tumlin; grandchildren, Mark and Dawn Hand, San Antonio, Texas, Renee and Brad Morris, Maysville, and Jackson Culpepper, Jefferson; great-grandchildren, Scott, Steven and Katie Hand, William, Texys and Bradford Morris; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 22, at 2:30 p.m. from the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Rd. with the Rev. Stacy Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, December 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Eagle Ranch, P.O. Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, GA 30502-0500.
