COMMERCE – Lammie Dean Carder, 82, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010.
Born on June 30, 1928, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Elisha and Ora Garrett Carder. He was a barber and was a member and a former deacon of Apple Valley Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II and he assisted other veterans with their benefits. Mr. Carder was preceded in death by his wife, Runette Tench Carder.
Survivors include a sister, Sara Nell Stewart, Jefferson; nieces, Jane Willis, Pat Hill, Janice Griffin, Virginia Griffin, Mary Smith and Sara Whitsel; nephews, Lenyward Carder, Rex Looney, Steve Looney and Mike Whitsel.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 16, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Carlton Peters and Marvin Luttrell officiating. Burial will be in the Jackson Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
