HULL – John David Colvard, 66, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Henry Clayton and Eunice Aaron Colvard. He was in construction for most of his life and retired from the building and maintenance department with I.W. Davis Detention Center in Jackson County. He was of the Methodist denomination.
Survivors include his wife, Louida Christian Colvard, Hull; daughter, Jeni Wetherford (Randy) Etowah, Tennessee; stepchildren, Angie Townsend (Chuck), Hull, Cory Christian (Melody), Danielsville, and Craig Christian (Rachel), Winder; sisters, Patricia Mashburn, Canton, and Jeanette Murphy (Jake), Talmo; grandchildren, Whit Wetherford; several step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11, at 3:30 p.m., from the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home with George Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, December 10, from 6 to 8 p.m.
