LULA – Willard R. Stowe, 67, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010, following an extended illness due to an automobile accident.
Born in Jackson County on February 5, 1943, he was the son of the late Hubert and Hattie Barrett Stowe. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and a member of the adult Sunday School Class. He played the lead guitar for the Mountain View Baptist Church choir for 35 years. He was an employee of Tipton Construction Company in Gainesville with 42 years of service.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, LouElla “Tiney” Barns Stowe, Lula; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Craig Hubbard, Jefferson; sisters, Viola Jordan, Lula, Jewel Brown, Braselton, and Montine Wade, Cleveland; and grandchildren, Cory Ray Dyer, Emily Hubbard and Jordan Hubbard.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11, at 2 p.m., at Mountain View Baptist Church with the Revs. James Harvey and Craig Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, December 10, from 7 to 9 p.m.
