COMMERCE - Elsie Louise Hudson, 92, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful friend passed away peacefully at her home with her family on December 2, 2010.
Mrs. Hudson was born in Bainbridge on February 1, 1918, to the late David and Ilef Musselwhite. She “Nanny” was a housewife and homemaker and a very loving mother and grandmother. She was of the Baptist denomination. Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Willis Hudson; son, Elmo Willis “Sonny” Hudson Jr.; brothers, Herbert, Powell, Calvin, and Jeathrow Musselwhite; sisters, Catherine Marchant and Harriet Musselwhite.
Survived include her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and John Norris, Commerce; son and daughter-in-law, Davey and Patsy Hudson, Lawrenceville; sisters, Clara Nell Smith, Fort Myers, Fla., and Jimmie Laura Houston, Tifton; grandchildren, Tony Hudson, Rocky Mount, Va., Jodi Shelfer, Commerce, Larry Walker, Fort Myers, Fla., Nicki Hudson, St. Augustine, Fla., and Keira Ereenburg, Hinton, W. Va.; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Friday, December 3, at 7:00 p.m. from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday night from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be Saturday at 3 p.m. from Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge.
