COLBERT – Jack G. Dickerson, 62, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010.
Born in Royston, he was the son of the late Florence Thomas and Ruby McGarity Dickerson. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. Mr. Dickerson retired from the United States Postal Service with 41 years of service, He was a member of the Vanna United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Dwayne Dickerson; very special grandchildren, Alexa, Cloie and Belle Dickerson, Colbert; sister, Barbara Dickerson, Vanna; brother, Charles Dickerson, Dewy Rose; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be held Friday, December 3, at 4:30 p.m., from the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Parks officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, December 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Redeemed Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1113, Commerce, GA 30529.
