PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLA. – Jimmie Broome Benton, 94, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010.
She was born in Franklin County and lived most of her younger years in Danielsville. Jimmie Lou was the oldest daughter of Susan and Robert T. Broome. She married Thomas L. Benton (LTC) in 1940 and had one daughter, Linda Ann. She is preceded in death by her husband and sisters, Robbie Brooks and Charlene Strickland.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gary Gennerich, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; sister, Willie Ruth Freeman, Lincolnton; and sister-in-law, Ida Benton, Atlanta.
Funeral services will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street, Columbia, S.C.
