WATKINSVILLE – Michael James Cleghorne, 55, died Thursday, November 18, 2010.
A native of Los Angeles, Calif., he was the son of the late James Roscoe and Barbara Jean Dahl Cleghorne. He served in the United States Navy as a Navy SEAL and was employed by Adams Motor Express as a long haul freight specialist. He was a former member of the Street Masters Car Club, enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Kay Green Cleghorne, Watkinsville; a son, Michael Trace Cleghorne, Watkinsville; stepdaughters, Toni Elysia Phillips, Watkinsville, and Amber Rene Thompson, Oak Grove, Ky.; brother, John Robert Cleghorne, Danielsville; sister, Shelli Strinz, Arcadia, Calif.; grandchildren, Georgia Michelle Phillips, Porcha Lynn Phillips, James Brian Wilkes and Kaylin Kendall Thompson; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
No funeral services are planned at this time.
Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
