Ruth B. Rice

WINDER – Ruth B. Rice, 86, died Monday, November 8, 2010.

Born in Walton County, she was the daughter of the late Emmett and Sue Sorrells Braswell. She was a member of the Winder First Baptist Church, the Winder Lions Club and was the former president of the Lioness Club. Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by a son, David Rice, and a sister, Annie Greer Hendrix.

Survivors include her husband, Roy D. Rice, Winder; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Gwen Rice and Keith and Barbara Rice, all of Winder and Joe and Ellenor Rice, Indiana; daughter and son-in-law, Martha Ann and Larry Holcom, Gainesville; daughter-in-law, Terry Rice, Winder; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 12, at Smith Memory Chapel with the Revs. John Talley and Jimmy Greer officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, November 11, from 6 to 9 p.m.
