COMER – James Ralph Brooks, 63, died Sunday, November 7, 2010.
Born in Comer, he was the son of the late George and Gussie Mae Scoggin Brooks. He retired from Quinco Electrical and was of the Baptist denomination. Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Savage Brooks; and second wife, Carolyn Suddeth Brooks.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Kim and Davit Patton, Colbert, Randy and Debbie Brooks, Comer, Paul and Tabby Brooks, Danielsville; brother, Bob Brooks; sister, Patsy Standridge; grandchildren, Jennifer and D.J. Patton, Madison and Randi Brooks, Brandon Perdue, Kim Pinson, Brianna Brooks, Crystal Couch; and a longtime friend, Mary Herbert.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 11, at 4 p.m., at Colbert First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen Guest officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Foundation of Northeast Georgia, 3320 Old Jefferson Rd., Ste. 700, Athens, GA 30607.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
