DANIELSVILLE – Shirley Jean Beatenbough O’Quinn, 74, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Athens.
Born in Madison County on April 16, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Clifford W. and Minnie Will Fowler Beatenbough. She was a retired certified nursing assistant and a member of the New Hope Worship Center. Mrs. O’Quinn was twice married, first to the late Robert Ray Smith and second to the late George Wilburn O’Quinn.
Survivors include daughters, Donna Rice and Alice Harper, both of Danielsville, Vicki Drake, Comer and Robin Herring, Colbert; stepdaughters, Sharon Smith, Winder and Yvonne Russell, Jonesboro; brothers, Doyle Beatenbough, Danielsville and Neil Beatenbough, Fayetteville; a sister, Martha Pethel, Danielsville; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 5, at 2 p.m., at the New Hope Worship Center with the Revs. Glenn Guest, Mike Spence and Clay Huff officiating. Burial will follow in the Evangelical Methodist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, November 4. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m., Friday. The family is at the home of Vicki Drake, 6301 Highway 191, Comer.
