Inez Byrd Wilhelm Scarborough
“Mama Will”
HULL – Inez Byrd Wilhelm Scarborough, “Mama Will,” 93, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010.
A native of Danville, Va., she was the daughter of the late James Arthur and Minnie Etta Byrd. She was the former owner of Wilhelm Day Nursery, a foster mother and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Scarborough was preceded in death by her first husband, the Rev. James Martin Wilhelm Jr.; and grandchildren, Christy, Misty and Martin Waters.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn Clinton Scarborough, “Papa”; children, Cindy (Gordon) Waters, Athens, Tina (Randy) Noland, Danielsville, Randy (Mary Jo) Wilhelm, Ila; and grandchildren, Brandon Waters, Charie Waters, Amanda Thurmond, Mariah Noland, Macey Noland, Candace Carey and Amber Wilhelm; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 5, at 3 p.m., at Lord and Stephens Madison Chapel with the Revs. Jonathan Tolbert and Bill Woods officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
