Fredda Ann (Poole) Barnette went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 31, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. A kind and loving mother, she was born in Anderson, S.C., to the late Grady Poole Sr. and Sallie McKinley Poole. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Barnette was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Barnette; and sister, Peggy Bowyer.
Survivors include her children, Betsy (Matthew) Patton, Lindsey (Glen) Thomas, all of Comer and Charles “Chip” (Cynthia) Gray, Hartwell; siblings, Joyce (Donnie) Barton, Anderson, S.C. and Grady (Rebecca) Poole, Colbert; grandchildren, Christian Gray, Gabrielle Gray, Zachary Gray, James Avery Thomas and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 2, at 2 p.m., at Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Floyd Stansell Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Foundation of Northeast Georgia, 3320 Old Jefferson Rd., Ste 700, Athens, GA 30607.
