HOMER – John Thomas Wood, 55, died.
Born in Tampa, Fla., he was the son of Matilda Wood and the late J.T. Wood.
Survivors in addition to his mother include children, Stephen Curtis Wood and Jennifer Dawn D’Angelo, both of Florida, Joseph Christopher Wood, New York, Jacob Johnathan Wood, Atlanta; a sister, Linda Mason, Atlanta; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 2, at New Covenant Church on Newton Bridge Rd. in Athens with the Rev. Howard Conine officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Christian Church Cemetery in Homer. The family will receive friends from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.

My dad was a great man. He believed in God, so he is in Heaven now waiting for the rest of us. We Love you Dad and you are dearly missed. Your precious misses her daddy.
