Doyle T. Hart, 77, of Royston, having lived in the Sandy Cross Community, died Monday, July 28, 2008, on the farm in which he was born, raised and loved.
Born in Franklin County on March 12, 1931, he was the son of the late Roy W. and Vallie Phillips Hart.
He retired from Georgia Farm Credit with 33-1/2 years services, and was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force. He served on the Ty Cobb Memorial Hospital Board of Directors for many years and was a member of New Covenant Worship Center in Athens, where he served on the altar committee.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Louise Smith Hart, Royston; son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Susan Hart, Royston; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Randy Fordham, Danielsville; sisters, Donnie Johnson and Dorothy Hart, both of Royston; grandchildren, Corey and April Hart and Faith Hart; great-grandchildren, Colby, McKenzie and Dakota Hart; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Revs. Beth Stephens, Howard Conine, Michael Giddeons and David Coker officiating. Burial will be in Cary Memorial Gardens.
