SWAINSBORO – Mildred Whitmire Youmans died Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.
She was a native of Jefferson and was retired from the Citizens Bank of Swainsboro. She was a member of Calvary Methodist Church, and had an avid love for fishing and crocheting. Mrs. Youmans was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Youmans.
Survivors include daughters, Connie Youmans, Debbie Youmans and Vicki Way (Johnny), all of Swainsboro; a sister, Joan Sizemore, Commerce; brothers, Charles Whitmire (Carol), Commerce, Bill Whitmire, the Dry Pond Community, and Mike Whitmire (Beth), Monticello; grandchildren, Brandon Youmans (Stacie), Jason Lewis (Anna), all of Swainsboro, and Adam Lewis, Albany; and great-grandchildren, Kaleb Youmans, Daisy Youmans and Dalton Lewis.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 29, at 2 p.m., from the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Eastbrook Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shannon Brantley, Adam Lewis and Jason Lewis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, October 28, from 6 to 8 p.m.
