AUGUSTA – Willa C. Baxter, 96, formerly of Commerce, died Thursday, October 21, 2010.
Born in Commerce, she was the daughter of the late Ezra Joel and Allie Allen Crocker. She was co-owner of B & C Dry Cleaning and then worked at Collins Dry Cleaning. She was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Baxter was preceded in death by her husband, John Ed Baxter.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Patty Williams, Evans, and Bette and Perry Miller, Sykesville, Md.; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Paul Kell, Atlanta; grandchildren, Renee Toole (Robert), Alan Williams (Sally), Victor Behr (Tammy), Valerie Dawson (Kevin), and Venessa Stewart (Keith); great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Jessica Dawson, Jillian Toole, Kirsten and Courtney Gehr, Lance and Reid Stewart and Zack and Mary Williams; nephews, Kevin Kell (Jane), Lee and Mark Crocker and Robert Jordan (Pat); nieces, Karen Petro and Billie Crawley (Lee).
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Lilly Bland and Tisha Gordon.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 30, at 2 p.m., from the Grey Hill Cemetery with the Rev. David Harbin and David Bowen officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery.
