Sandra Corpus

Sandra Ruth Corpus, 26, of Jefferson, died Monday, July 28, 2008.

Born in Portsmouth, Va., she was the daughter of Ruby N. and Elise Smith Corpus of Jefferson. She was a certified nursing assistant, a 1999 graduate of Jackson County Comprehensive High School, where she was involved in chorus and the color guard, was a member of Philippine-American Association and the Bethany United Methodist Church.

Survivors in addition to her parents include a son, Triston Webb, Jefferson; sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Matthew Rintoul, Pendergrass; a brother, Rob Corpus, Atlanta; grandmothers, Connie Corpus, Long Beach, Calif., and Ruth Smith, Commerce.

Memorial services will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Bethany United Methodist Church with the Revs. Johnny Ray and Elaine Standridge officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 31, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.

Sandra was a wonderful person. I was not close to her but I do rememeber her from Chorus at JCCHS. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and her son through this difficult time.

Sandra I miss you already like crazy girl...you was my girl...OMG i feel like I'm dreaming...I canlt belive this my mama is going crazy...This is a friend everybody would want in there life...my thoughts and prayers go out to her son and family...

I think a full scale investigation should be launched into this poor young woman's death and the circumstances that she had herself in, probably unknowingly. At 26 years old there is way too much life left to live, and now a young child must face this cold world without his mommy, and a mommy must continue to live without her baby girl.

Sandra was a laid back, funny, and outgoing person. She
was like a sister to me. We hung out everyday in school.
We were tight in band and we were tight in school. I
haven't seen her though in the past 3 years. That's what
is killing me. I wish I had never turned my back on you
girl. I still love you, I always asked about you during
those three years. I know though that you are in a better
place. I pray for all her family, friends, and especially
Triston (her son). I pray that good will give him some
comfort and understanding of all this. I will miss you
dearly. One day I will get to see you again.

Oh my God... I had no idea... This is so incredibly sad. I am so sorry for her family... She was so young... it hasn't been long since I last saw her. What happened?

Went to school with Sandra and had her mom as a teacher. My heart goes out to her family. She was such a sweet girl, and will be missed by all who knew her.

I just found out about the death of such a good friend not knowing that she soon passed after my big brother Tuan Tarpkins on June 2. 2008. I am overwhelmed with sorrow. I love u Robbie and Mrs. Corpus. I pray that she recieved salvation. We will see her again someday.
