DANIELSVILLE – Lillian Elece Massey Benson, 80, died Saturday, October 16, 2010.
She was the daughter of the late Homer and Hazel Massey and lived in Danielsville approximately 48 years. She was a longtime teacher having taught at Danielsville Elementary School, retiring after 36 years of teaching. She was a member of the Danielsville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her husband, T.R. Benson.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Margie Benson, Philip and Regina Benson and Mike Benson; brothers, Miller, Norwood and Lynn Massey; grandchildren, Scott (Cathy) Benson, Jeff (Stephanie) Benson, David (Kristi) Benson and Jeannie (Brian) Vaughn; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services were held Monday, October 18, from Oconee Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Mercengill officiating.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Salvation Army.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
