GRIFFIN – Nancy Virginia Ayers, 73, died Monday, October 11, 2010, at Piedmont Hospital.
Born in Banks County she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Lois Griffin Merck. She was retired from Kroger. Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by a brother, Marcus Merck.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Ayers, Griffin; sons, Gregory Ayers, Lavonia, and Jeffery Ayers, Griffin; brother, Charles Edwards Merck, Athens; sisters, Willene Coker, Homer, Mary Tench, Demorest, and Annie Dixon, Clarkesville; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 13, at 11 a.m., from the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Boomer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, October 12, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
