Clara Bell Coile

COMER – Clara Bell Smith Coile, 88, died Monday, October 11, following a period of declining health.

A native of Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late William and Maude Ledford Smith. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Coile was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Cleveland Coile.

Survivors include daughters, Barbara Funderburke, Betty Woodward and Amelia Nelson; a sister, Gladys Slay; grandchildren, Pamela Hutchison, Jason Parks, Melissa Hames, Michael Nelson, Shannon Nelson and Josh Funderburke; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Rachel, Matthew, Ben, Emma, Zachary, Michael and Will; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 13 from Lord & Stephens Funeral Home Madison Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Coile officiating. Burial was in Colliers Baptist Church Cemetery
