DECATUR – Rachel Whitlock Heery, 85, died Sunday, October 3, 2010.
She was born and raised in the Dry Pond Community of Jackson County and was retired as a member of the Rich’s 20 Year Club.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Charles E. Heery; children and spouses, Cynthia and Tim Austin, Chatsworth, Chuck Heery and Pat Griffin, both of Atlanta, Bob and Joanne Heery, Kissimmee, Fla.; sisters, Sara Benton, Jefferson, Mary Brooks, Athens, Eleanor and husband Mike Yates, Bakersfield, Calif., Carolyn Autry, Ceres, Calif.; brothers, Jimmy and wife Mary Whitlock, Commerce, Max and wife Peggy Whitlock, Knoxville, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Louise Whitlock, Warner Robins; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Further arrangements will be announced by the Cremation Society of Georgia.
