Willie Mae Maddox

Willie Mae Maddox, 97, of Winder, died Friday, May 16, 2008.

A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Robert T. and Mary Ann Elizabeth Jenkins Venable. She was a retiree of the Barrow County School System, where she served as a lunchroom manager. She was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church. Mrs. Maddox was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. “Doc” Maddox.

Survivors include children, David Maddox, Winder, and Cynthia Reed, Alpharetta; grandchildren, Chastain Reed, John David Reed, Nathan Reed and Andrea Reed, all of Alpharetta.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 19, at the Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Crews and Richard Lumpkin officiating. Burial was in Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Carter Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
