LEXINGTON – James Fields Lord, 77, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at Hinkle Hospice House.
Born in Davidson County on May 10, 1933, he was the son of the late L.G. Lord and Fannie Lou Fields Lord. He was a member of Churchland Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing and playing the piano. He formerly played and sang with The Carolinians Quartet. Mr. Lord was preceded in death by a brother, Hostell Lord.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Helen Davis Lord, Lexington, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Ann and Gayle Phipps, Lexington, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, David Benjamin and Janice Lord, Linwood; grandchildren, Josh, Tiffanie and Kacie Lord and Taylor Phipps; and a sister, Sybil Carolyn Ham, Lexington, N.C.
Memorial services were held Friday, October 1, at Churchland Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Nance Howell IV officiating. Burial was private.
