NICHOLSON – Latona “Toni” Smith McGinnis, 68, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Bibb County, the daughter of Hoyt Smith of Nicholson and the late Willometter Sailors Smith. She was a member of the Nicholson United Methodist Church and was employed by Roper Pump Company. Mrs. McGinnis was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Lilburn McGinnis.
Survivors in addition to her father include a son, Mark McGinnis, Monroe; a brother, Bobby Smith, Lakewood, Ill.; sister, Delores Wilson, Lafayette; and granddaughter, Jillian Haughey.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 1, at 3 p.m., from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Clark officiating. Burial will be in Cabin Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, September 29, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.

It is so sad to see an old friend like Toni pass. We grew up together in Nicholson. Finding her obituary was such a shock. My condolences go out to her family. May God bless them and give them strength.
