COMMERCE – Edna Louise Spear Wilbanks, 92, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Wilbanks Country Living Personal Care.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late C.E. and Ruth Reynolds Spear. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Commerce and was a homemaker. Mrs. Wilbanks was preceded in death by her husband, Dewitt Wilbanks; and a brother, J. Nolan Spear, Sr.
Survivors include sons, Gene Wilbanks, Mims, Fla., Lamar Wilbanks and Wayne Wilbanks, both of Commerce, and Dennis Wilbanks, Mims, Fla.; a brother, C.E. Spear Jr., Spencer ,N.C.; sister, Mable Ray, Marietta; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 30, at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Carlton Allen officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, September 29, from 6 to 8 p.m.
