ATHENS – Mary Frances Mathews, 70, died Sunday, September 26, 2010, at Silverleaf Assisted Living Home.
A 1958 graduate of Oglethorpe County High School, she retired from the University of Georgia Bookstore and worked ten years with the Athens Tech Bookstore. She was a member of Lexington Baptist Church and was a devoted sister and aunt.
Survivors include sisters, Syble Smith, Carlton, and Rita Manning, Conyers; a brother, Wallace Mathews, Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 29, at 10 a.m. from the Sandy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Palmer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christian City Home for Children, 7345 Red Oak Rd., Union City, GA 30291.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
