THOMSON – Evelyn Rucker Richards, 95, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the BJC Nursing Home, Commerce.
Born in Rayle, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Eva Cosby Echols. She was a longtime member of the Thomson First United Methodist Church and the OSME Bible study group and was a retired employee of Hadaway’s Department Store, Thomson. Mrs. Richards was preceded in death by husbands, George Luther Rucker Sr. and Claude N. Richards.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, George Luther Rucker Jr. and Pat Rucker, Jefferson; and grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, October 3, at the Thomson First United Methodist Church, Knox Chapel, with the Rev. Beverly Wilkerson Casstevens officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Thomson.
