DANIELSVILLE –Neal “Stanley” Bridges died Saturday afternoon, September 25, 2010, at the Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
Mr. Bridges passed away peacefully in his sleep after a brave and courageous battle with Leukemia. His beloved wife and sister were at his side as was his last request.
He was the son of the late Donald and Helen Parham Bridges. He was an outdoorsman and loved life and nature, having worked most of his life in farming and agriculture. He was of the Baptist denomination.
Survivors include his wife, Detsy Leisure Bridges; sister, Judy Bridges, Danielsville; father and mother-in-law, Fred and Edna Leisure, Lynn Haven, Fla; sister-in-law and spouse, Crystal and Reid Young, Niceville, Fla.; three brothers-in-law and spouses, Freddy Leisure, Lynn Haven, Fla., Forrest and Sue Leisure, Panama City, Fla., and Damon and Cindy Leisure, Wichita Falls, Texas, and their respective families; and a number of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dedicated friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 28, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. John Woods and Mr. C.J. Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery in Comer.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Monday, September 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. The family is at home.
