COMMERCE – Mike Franklin Whisnant, 52, died Thursday, September 23, 2010, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born in Winder, he was the son of James Whisnant and the late Dovie Crisley Whisnant. Mr. Whisnant was preceded in death by a sister, Lisa Whisnant.
Survivors in addition to his father include his wife, Debbie London Whisnant, Commerce; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Jennifer Whisnant, Toccoa; brothers, Steve Whisnant, Pendergrass, and Larry Whisnant, Jefferson; sister, Joann Whisnant, Pendergrass; and a grandchild, Shelby Whisnant, Toccoa.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 26, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Beatty officiating. The body was cremated. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
