DANIELSVILLE – Herbert Marlyn Hutchins, 89, died Sunday, September 12, 2010.
Born on August 15, 1921, he was the son of the late Earnest L. and Viola Turner Hutchins. Mr. Hutchins was preceded in death by daughters, Brenda Teal and Rebecca Haggard; grandchildren, Jonathan and Joy Hutchins; and a sister, Earnestine Adams.
He was self-employed and held other jobs during his lifetime. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church since 1949, where he was a deacon for many years and also served as a Sunday School teacher and held other offices.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Loutrelle Chandler Hutchins; son, Michael D. (Cathy) Hutchins; son-in-law, Robert Haggard; grandchildren, Jennifer Ward, Joshua (Meagan) Hutchins, Clinton (Erin) Haggard, Russell Haggard; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 14, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Elliott and Dayton Logan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Deacons of Friendship Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.
